Niecy Nash discusses how LOVE can break you and stop you from receiving more of it, during interview about WHY she married a woman.

While many assumed that actress Niecy Nash had freshly broken out of the closet, Nash set the record straight, in a recent interview with People magazine. The “Claws” actress and spoke about the soulmate love that she’s now experiencing with her new WIFE.

It came as a shock to many last week when Neicy announced her new love to the world, just months after divorcing her husband. Not only did she have a new love, but the world learned that the curvaceous Nash, married a woman.

In this week’s issue of PEOPLE, the Claws actress and newlywed, 50, shares intimate details of her love story — and recent surprise wedding! — with wife Jessica Betts.

When it comes to Betts, Niecy speaks of her from a deep soul perspective:

“[My marriage] has absolutely nothing to do with gender and it has everything to do with her soul,” Nash, who divorced her second husband Jay Tucker in March, says of Betts. “She is the most beautiful soul I have ever met in my life.”

“I was not suppressing my sexuality my whole life,” she adds of the her decision to marry Betts, which came as a shock to fans. “I love who I love. At one point in my life, I married twice and I love those people. And today I love this person. I’ve done everything I wanted to do on my own terms and my own way. So my choice now in a partner has nothing to do with who I’ve always been. It’s a matter of who I am in this moment.”

“I don’t feel like my marriage is my coming out of anywhere, but rather a going into myself and being honest about who I love,” she shares. “And I’m not limiting myself on what that love is supposed to look like.”

Niecy put her new lifestyle all up in the faces. They clown at that joyous wedding.

When Nash and Betts, a 41-year-old singer-songwriter, first connected on social media in 2015, Nash says she was “happily married” to her ex-husband Tucker.

“[Jessica] and I were friends, but I never saw her as someone I would date,” says Nash.

After Nash and Tucker announced their split in October 2019 — a mutual decision made by the couple — the actress says something shifted.

“I loved her before I was in love with her because she is such a special human being,” says Nash. “But we began to see each other in a way we never had before. Sometimes you get so broken by love, you run from it. But I’ve learned that you should always hold space for magic because it can happen at any time.”

Ohhhh. PEOPLE Mag, did their thing with that interview.

Kissy's Thoughts

I totally get what Niecy is saying.  I loved someone, before I was in love with them. And found myself fighting against the love I had for them, when I realized that I was falling in love.

Love can be an interesting thing.  Heartbreak often makes us feel like we need time to heal, be alone, figure out what went wrong, and tend to our wounds.  But like they always say “God starts laughing in Heaven when those who are called, tell HIM, what they are about to do.”

Love may come when you least expect it, when you feel you’re not ready. And you know what? You gotta trust God and go with it. Eliminate the fear and allow love to make you a better person.

But one thing for certain. I will find my love with a man. God would not do me like that.  I love my female friends. They are all gorgeous, super sexy, brilliant, with the most beautiful souls.  I totally see why men fall madly in love with them. After all, they are Goddesses. 😂 But I don’t want to marry them. I actually LOVE seeing them married and in love with amazing men. The way they always dreamed of.

Marrying a woman simply isn’t in my soulmate picture. At no time are we to play God short. All you ever had to do was DECIDE and God is like “I got you.”

So I guess, maybe you should be a little more specific. 😘
